It's safe to say 2022 has been a challenge and at times frustrating for many individuals trying to navigate through all the changes. Don't get discouraged because the Sea of Change Conference in April is fast approaching. An outstanding group of speakers has been put together along with some topics to help turn the tide.In closing continue to adjust your sails and allow the winds to mobe you in the right direction.

Everything Seniors

Rosie Walter has worked for Saline County since 1994, starting at Community Corrections. She then transferred to Senior Services in 2018 to serve as the Director. Because of her experience at Community Corrections working with grants and budgets, she was a good fit to benefit Senior Services. She has been able to gain grant funding to remodel the building and provide services to meet the needs of seniors. Senior Services provides Meals On Wheels and a place for seniors to meet for activities. Rosie loves to work with seniors by playing a role in providing critical community services to help seniors engage, enrich and empower their lives, enhancing their quality of life. Volunteer interests include the Animal Shelter and serving with Salina Noon Network Ambucs.

Amanda Little is a certified professional life and leadership coach for forward-thinking professionals who want to create a life that’s more than just “fine.” Through my years of leadership experience, insightful questions, and unbiased voice of guidance, I’m here to help you feel more alive in your life and career—all while feeling heard and respected throughout the coaching process. When I’m not coaching, you can find me facilitating both adult and junior Community Leadership Programs in my hometown of Salina, Kansas—the true heart of the Midwest.

 

Fair Housing

Abigail “Abi” Panecatl joined the HCCI staff in July 2019 as a Tenant & Landlord Counselor and Educator with a previous background as a certified insurance agent and customer service representative. Abigail graduated from Highland Park High School and attended Washburn University in Topeka, KS. Abi is experienced in radio and TV production and took part in a Spanish-speaking community radio broadcast from 2015 to 2018, also in Topeka. Currently, Abi oversees the Tenant/Landlord Program. As the Tenant/Landlord Program Manager, she uses her knowledge of the Kansas Residential Landlord and Tenant Act, and Fair Housing Laws, as well as her bilingual skills to convey rights and responsibilities applicable to tenants and landlords in Kansas.

 

Live beyond Labels

Keynote Speaker Emeka Nnaka is a keynote speaker and advocate for hope. He helps organizations cultivate the power of hope to navigate times of stress and struggle. Emeka is uniquely qualified to present life, its challenges, and its opportunities from the perspective of someone who found strength through intense adversity. Emeka used the power of hope to find a new and different course for his life. He returned to school and graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Services from Langston University, and his master’s in human Relations and Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Oklahoma. As a speaker, coach, and advocate, Emeka uses his 5-pillar process to help people live beyond the labels of their circumstances.
